The Georgian Government has supported Ukraine “at all international levels” and will continue to do so on the backdrop of Russia’s invasion of the country, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili told a meeting of the Government on Monday.
Expressing solidarity with Ukraine and its citizens, the head of the Government noted the 140 tons of humanitarian aid sent from Georgia to help Ukrainian cities over the recent days, as well as the Georgian Ambassador’s continued work in Ukraine amid the war to ensure no Georgian citizens are left without support from their state.
What is happening in Ukraine is very hard to watch. Once again, on behalf of our government, I would like to express our full solidarity and support for our Ukrainian people and Ukraine. We, of course, support Ukraine at all levels, we have supported it politically at all international levels, and of course we will continue to do so,” Garibashvili said.
Georgia on March 2 voted on a United Nations General Assembly resolution on Wednesday to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, joining 140 other countries in the vote.
