Georgian parliament speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Saturday, in an interview with the Georgian Public Broadcaster, announced that Ruslan Stefanchuk, the chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine had invited him to participate in the Crimean platform, to be held in Croatia on October 25.
In comments about communication with his Ukrainian counterpart, Papuashvili said during his visit to Ukraine in April, he had developed a “very warm relationship” with him and they have been still in contact.
Papuashvili highlighted a “very intensive” communication and exchange of information between the “friendship” groups of the Georgian parliament and the Ukrainian rada and stressed the countries should have a “very warm and friendly” relationship.
The main thing is that Georgia stands by Ukraine more than a country in a situation like ours could do. [...] There are politicians in Ukraine who are interested in warm relations between Georgia and Ukraine, and these relations “really exist", the parliament speaker added.
