Georgian parliament speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Tuesday said the country’s delegation would “once again” express support for Ukraine at the inaugural Crimea Platform Parliamentary Summit, which opened in the Croatian capital city of Zagreb earlier today to focus on Russia's aggression against Ukraine, including its illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the ongoing war in the country.
The Georgian official, who is scheduled to address the summit later today, has told the media that “Georgia knows what Russian aggression means and how important the international community’s adequate response is”.

My speech will be based on the experience of Georgia in terms of Russian aggression, as well as the consequences of the [West’s] alleged inadequate response to Russia’s invasion of Georgia [in 2008] and what should be the world’s adequate responses to the ongoing conflict [in Ukraine]”, Papuashvili said.
The official also noted that “we are a country that has experienced Russian aggression several times, and we know very well what the right reaction should be, and what kind of solidarity is required”.
The Georgian parliamentary delegation, which includes Nikoloz Samkharadze, the chairman of the Georgian parliament's foreign relations committee, and Archil Talakvadze, the vice-speaker, arrived in Zagreb on Monday to hold meetings on the sidelines of the international event which has brought together 43 delegations of 32 parliaments, five international parliamentary organisations and 26 heads of parliament.

In comments on the event, Samkharadze said the delegation had been invited to this summit as a country supporting Ukraine, noting that the number of participant countries was generally limited to European Union member states and the United States.
The Crimea Platform serves as a new international consultation and coordination format initiated by Ukraine and aiming to increase the effectiveness of international response to the ongoing occupation of Crimea and security threats coming from Russia.
The inaugural meeting of the platform was held in August 2021.
