Speaker of the Georgian parliament Shalva Papuashvili on Monday said he was “appalled” by Russian “indiscriminate strikes” on civilian sites and innocent people in Kyiv and across Ukraine.
In his remarks over the missile strikes on sites in the country, Papuashvili stressed “this insanity must stop”.
“Glad that Georgia’s diplomats in the cities of Ukraine are safe. My thoughts are with those who were injured from the shellings”, the head of the legislative body tweeted.

Earlier today, Georgian president Salome Zourabichvili condemned the latest Russian strikes as “an indiscriminate attack on civilians meant to destroy [and] instil fear”.
Russia struck cities across Ukraine during rush hour on Monday morning, killing civilians and destroying infrastructure in an apparent revenge after president Vladimir Putin declared an explosion on Russia’s sea bridge to Crimea on Saturday a “terrorist attack”.
Cruise missiles hit busy intersections, parks and tourist sites in downtown Kyiv for the first time since Russia used them against the capital in June.
