Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaliani and US Senator Jeanne Shaheen reaffirmed their support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the wake of war in the country on Tuesday.
During a telephone conversation, the officials discussed regional security issues, as well as the situation in Georgia’s Russian-occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) regions.
Zalkaliani thanked Shaheen for advocating “all priority topics for Georgia,” highlighting the importance of support from the US Senate.
The sides also discussed the prospects to reinforce the strategic partnership between Georgia and the US, the Georgian MFA said.
