Georgian MFA: Gov’t has assisted 1,500 Georgian citizens in evacuating from Ukraine

The Georgian government has assisted about 1,500 citizens of the country in evacuations from Ukraine amid the war, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday.

Among these, over 200 citizens were returned to Georgia over the last 24 hours by the Georgian consulates in Ukraine and neighbouring states, the foreign office added.

The transfer of Georgian citizens from Lviv to Warsaw is in progress, with special bus services operating on a daily basis until March 12.

Georgian diplomatic missions are organising transfer of citizens from Ukraine to neighbouring states, with a follow-up departure to Georgia, the Ministry explained.
