Andriy Kasyanov, the Acting Ambassador of Ukraine to Georgia, on Thursday said his Government welcomed the statement by the Georgian Prime Minister on the “principled position” of his Government over not allowing the use of the territory of Georgia for circumventing international sanctions placed on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
Of course, Ukraine welcomes the position of the Prime Minister of Georgia, which he expressed yesterday. He said that the territory of Georgia could not be used by individuals and legal entities to avoid sanctions,” the Ukrainian diplomat said.
On Wednesday, the Georgian PM said his team had “very close cooperation [and] coordination” with its international partners, in response to recent speculation in the country about sanctioned goods being in transit through its territory.
