Georgian foreign minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Thursday “once again” confirmed Georgia’s “unwavering” support for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognised borders.
In his address at the 29th OSCE ministerial council in Łódź, Darchiashvili said the European “security architecture” had been destroyed by Russia’s full-scale military aggression against Ukraine and noted the humanitarian consequences were “dire” with “thousand of lives lost and millions of citizens displaced”.
Georgia co-sponsored a resolution calling for the protection of civilians amid the ongoing war in Ukraine on March 25 at the United Nations general assembly and on March 2, the country voted on a resolution to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, joining 140 other countries in the vote.
