Ukrainian children affected by war to spend 10 days discovering Georgia

Ukrainian children affected by the ongoing conflict in their country will spend 10 days travelling across Georgia with the support of the Georgian parliament and government, Archil Talakvadze, the Georgian parliament vice speaker, said on Monday.

In his social media post, Talakvadze announced the young visitors had already arrived in Georgia alongside Lyudmila Marchenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

I believe the days spent in Georgia will help the children and they will return to Ukraine with positive emotions”, Talakvadze said, thanking the Georgian ministry of youth and the country’s Ukraine embassy for their contribution in organising the visit.

The children will have an opportunity to travel to various destinations across Georgia and learn about the country’s history, culture and monuments.

Earlier this month the Georgian parliament also hosted more than 30 Ukrainian children and families of those fighting in the war in the country.
