Georgia not only joined, but also sponsored the United Nations resolution condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Foreign Minister Zalkaliani said on Thursday in reference to the UN General Assembly resolution demanding an immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of all Russian military forces.
Proceeding from our national interests and the ongoing aggression in Ukraine, we expressed our clear position that in these circumstances we stand with Ukraine and with the idea of protecting principles of international law, the country’s top foreign relations official commented.
Zalkaliani also highlighted Georgia’s role as one of the sponsors of the mentioned resolution, adding the country “absolutely shares its content and spirit.”

Georgia on Wednesday voted on a United Nations General Assembly resolution on Wednesday to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, joining 140 other countries in the vote.
The resolution demands that the Russian Federation “immediately, completely and unconditionally” withdraw all of its military from the territory of Ukraine “within its internationally recognized borders.”
