A humanitarian aid point will be opened in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi on Friday, to serve as a collection point for entrepreneurs, organisations and individuals to donate food and other basic necessities for Ukrainian citizens affected by the war, Deputy Tbilisi Mayor Ilia Eloshvili said on Thursday.
Eloshvili has called on the public to bring non-perishable products to the collection point, to be set up at 5 Akaki Beliashvili Street.
Deputy Tbilisi Mayor Andria Basilaia said the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv, Odessa and Kharkiv were the most affected by the armed conflict at this point, and called for humanitarian support.
Tbilisi City Hall has also opened a special account at the State Treasury to enable donations from individuals in the country. The treasury code for the account is 300778800, while money donations should be entered under the designation “For Ukraine”.
