Tbilisi City Hall ready to discuss naming Tbilisi location Ukrainian Heroes Square

Tbilisi City Hall and the City Council are ready to discuss naming one of the squares in the city the Ukrainian Heroes Square, the Embassy of Ukraine in the country said on Thursday.

The diplomatic office revealed the information following a meeting between Andrei Kasyanov, the Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, and Kakha Kaladze, Tbilisi Mayor, earlier during the day.

In the meeting, urgent assistance to Ukrainian citizens forced to flee the country amid the Russian invasion, establishment of Ukrainian sectors in Georgian preschools, and financial assistance to the Kyiv City State Administration were discussed.

The Ukrainian side also expressed gratitude to the Tbilisi Mayor’s office for the 50 tons of humanitarian aid recently delivered to Ukraine that included food, medicine, clothing and other items.
