Ukrainian citizens in Georgia will receive products of high necessity from companies that have been involved in the Enterprise Georgia campaign launched in recent years by the government to support local entrepreneurship, in the latest move helping those affected by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last week.
The Georgian Economy Ministry announced a new “large-scale campaign” under the #produceforukraine hashtag on Monday, revealing it would deliver products ranging from food to hygiene items and medicine to Ukrainians stranded in the country following the outbreak of hostilities.
The ministry said a number of the campaign’s beneficiary companies had already joined the initiative and added clothing, tarpaulin pieces, fuel tanks, floor insulation materials and other products would be included among eligible items.

Georgia has provided aid worth one million GEL ($315,000/€279,000) to Ukraine, with The Georgian Post also announcing it would deliver humanitarian parcels to Ukrainian citizens free of charge.

Russia began its military assault on Ukraine last week, after President Putin’s announcement of the recognition of the independence of the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk on February 21.
The Georgian government said on Sunday 40 tons of humanitarian aid had been sent to help Ukrainians displaced by war as part of the Produce for Ukraine campaign, organised by the government and the Ministry of Economy’s Enterprise Georgia agency.
