Enterprise Georgia has launched a new Export Assistance Programme to increase the export potential of small- and medium-sized local businesses, the state organisation announced earlier today.
Designed to support the diversification of export markets, identify sectors and products with export potential, and incentivise international sales, the programme will provide technical assistance to exporter companies.
Incorporating three technical assistance components, the new programme also seeks to minimise export challenges and implement mechanisms stimulating export.
Mikheil Khidureli, the Head of Enterprise Georgia, said local export companies had a “full package of assistance” through the agency along with the new programme.
The initiative targets 10 sectors including beverages (except for wine), clothing, leather and leather products, shoes, toys, ready-to-eat food production for pets, veterinary products, furniture manufacturing, jewellery and production of related items, and packaging materials.
Registration for participation in the programme is available for all Georgian regions from April 7 to May 10 on the exporters’ platform tradewithgeorgia.com.
The programme will be administered under the pilot Integrated Regional Development Programme, launched by the country’s Government and co-financed through the budget support scheme by the European Union, in Imereti, Kakheti, Guria, Racha-Lechkhumi, and Kvemo Kartli regions.
