The ongoing Russian military aggression in Ukraine, and the security situation in the Black Sea region, were discussed by Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani and Michael McCaul, the Co-Chair of the United States House Foreign Affairs Committee yesterday.

The unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity by Georgia and the US was underlined, with the Congressman welcoming the steps taken by Georgia in the direction, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the statement.
Zalkaliani thanked the US Congressman for the conversation on the matters and reiterated Georgia’s “steadfast support for Ukraine”. The Georgian FM also noted that bipartisan support of “our key strategic partner US” is critical for Georgia in this” decisive moment.”
Also, the parties stressed the importance of the "unity and resilience" of the international community in the ongoing situation.
