United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken extended his gratitude to Georgia’s President Salome Zourabichvili for the support the Georgian government has provided to Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian invasion of the country, as the two officials spoke on Thursday.
Russia’s attack on Ukraine and its continuous occupation of two of Georgia’s regions were the topics of discussion during a telephone call between the two leaders, US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said.
Secretary Blinken thanked President Zourabichvili for Georgian people’s support for Ukraine while also reaffirming US commitment to both Georgia and Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan praised the president's efforts, calling her work to bring about an agreement between the sides a "way forward for Georgia."
