US State Secretary Antony J. Blinken has raised ‘Russian military aggression’ in Ukraine and Georgia during his recent phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Blinken raised Russian interference in the 2020 United States election, its military aggression in Ukraine and Georgia, the poisoning of Aleksey Navalny, and the SolarWinds incident, among other issues,” said the US State Department.

In January 2021 Blinken said that if Georgia meets the criteria for NATO membership then the alliance should keep its door open for the country.

He also said that Russia is aggressive to countries which are not members of NATO and lack a security umbrella.
