The Georgian Foreign Minister Zalkaliani reacted to Georgia's voting on a resolution on Aggression Against Ukraine at the 11th special session of the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday with a message of support for the country under the ongoing Russian assault.
Georgia is among the 96 member states who co-sponsored the resolution, the country’s Foreign Ministry said, with the text condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine and calling for an immediate withdrawal of its armed forces receiving an overwhelming support of 141 countries.
FM Zalkaliani tweeted late on Wednesday night to react to the resolution, saying “We #StandWithUkraine".

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the message of the resolution was “loud and clear: End hostilities in Ukraine now. Silence the guns now. Open the door to dialogue and diplomacy now. The territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine must be respected in line with the UN Charter”.
The vote on the resolution closed a rare emergency session called by the Security Council.
