Andrei Kasyanov, the Charge d'affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, said on Tuesday he would “immediately inform” the Georgian Foreign Ministry about the resumption of the duties of Igor Dolgov, the Ambassador of Ukraine in Georgia.
Kasyanov made the comment after Rustavi 2 channel on Monday released footage of Dolgov at his residence in Tbilisi, following the Ambassador’s recall by the Ukrainian Government earlier this month.
During a briefing held at the Ukrainian Embassy, the Charge d'affaires said consultations between the Ambassador and the Ukrainian Government could take place in “a variety of formats”.
In times of war, the diplomacy moves away from the classicism. I can not reveal the peculiarities of diplomatic work, including the activities of our Ambassador during the war,” the Ukrainian diplomat told the press.
On March 1, Ukraine recalled its Ambassador for consultations, with President Volodymyr Zelensky citing the Georgian Government's refusal to allow volunteers in Georgia to take part in the war in Ukraine as the reason for the move.
