Lasha Darsalia, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia, met with Andrei Kasianov, the Charge d'affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, on Saturday to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.
Unspecified "provocative statements" about the Georgian Government's stance on Ukraine amid Russia's invasion of the country, to which the official Kyiv had "unfortunately responded to", were discussed during the meeting, Darsalia said.
[Those statements] often become the subjects of irresponsible inner speculations,” the Deputy FM noted.
The officials highlighted the importance of addressing the speculations in a timely manner, in order to avoid damaging the friendly relations between Georgia and Ukraine.
Ukraine recalled its Ambassador from Georgia for consultations on March 1, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy citing the Georgian Government's refusal to allow volunteers from Georgia to take part in the conflict as the reason for the move.
