Ukraine feels the support of the Georgian partners and the Georgian people like never before, Andrei Kasyanov, the Charge d'affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, said on Tuesday.

Kasyanov, who held a briefing following a decision by the President of Ukraine to recall the country’s Ambassador to Georgia for consultations on Tuesday, stressed the humanitarian aid provided by international partners, including Georgia, to his country following the Russian invasion that started last week.

“As you know, Georgia has recently sent 80 tons of humanitarian cargo to Ukraine, which includes medical supplies - medicines that are now in great demand by the armed forces as well as civilians,” the Charge d'affaires said.

Ukraine recalled its ambassador from Georgia for consultations on Tuesday, with President Volodymyr Zelensky citing the Georgian government's refusal to allow volunteers to take part in the conflict as the reason for the move.
