Georgia stands for Justice and with Ukraine with its contribution to the referral of the war crimes probe of Russia’s invasion of the country to the International Criminal Court, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday.
The MFA commented on the referral of the matter to the ICC Prosecutor by 38 state parties. The foreign office tweeted on the upcoming probe into “the situation in Ukraine and the war crimes taking place on the ground”.

On Wednesday, ICC Prosecutor, Karim A.A. Khan, announced the opening of an investigation into alleged war crimes committed so far during the ongoing conflict.
The list of referring countries ranges from Nordic states to Eastern European republics, as well as the United Kingdom, Australia and others.
Earlier the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted in reference to the inquiry, saying “38 countries from across the world have made the largest ever referral to the International Criminal Court for Russia’s barbaric invasion of Ukraine.”
