David Bakradze, Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, on Thursday highlighted the importance of fostering the rule of law for world peace and security at a United Nations Security Council debate.
In his remarks at the debate, Bakradze reminded members of the organisation about violations of principles of international law worldwide.

The diplomat named the ongoing illegal occupation of Georgia's regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) by Russia since 2008 as an example of cases of contravention of the principle.
Georgia stands for Justice and with Ukraine with its contribution to the referral of the war crimes probe of Russia’s invasion of the country to the International Criminal Court, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday.
Georgia voted on a United Nations General Assembly resolution on Wednesday to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, joining 140 other countries in the vote.
