David Ratiani and Gia Beriashvili, the two Georgian volunteers killed in combat action in Ukraine, were buried with military honours in Tbilisi on Saturday.
Beriashvili was buried in Temka Cemetery, while Ratiani was laid to rest in Varketili Cemetery in the capital. Politicians and civilians gathered at the funerals to express condolences to the families of the deceased.
Bodies of Ratiani and Beriashvili were repatriated to Georgia on Thursday. The volunteers were killed on March 18 in a clash near the city of Irpin close to the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv.
The body of Bakhva Chikobava, the third Georgian volunteer killed in the fighting, has not yet been transferred back to Georgia. Chikobava died during a clash in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, which is currently under siege.
