A Georgian volunteer has died in combat action near the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to the Public Broadcaster on Saturday.
The Ministry said the Georgian Embassy in Ukraine has been in communication with the family members of the deceased and noted that the “relevant procedures” have been underway.
The Ministry also confirmed that three Georgian volunteers had been wounded and transferred to the hospital, where they had been receiving appropriate treatment.
Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, 19 Georgian volunteers have died on frontlines in the country.
David Ratiani and Gia Beriashvili, the two Georgian volunteers killed in combat action in Ukraine, were buried with military honours in Tbilisi on Saturday.
