Georgian volunteer Arsen Ketsbaia has been killed in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, with Rustavi 2 TV channel reporting the news on Friday.
The channel said Ketsbaia was originally from Georgia’s western Samegrelo region but lived in Ukraine over the past several years and fought in one of the battalions of the armed forces defending the country from the Russian invasion.
Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, with the first death of a Georgian volunteer in the conflict reported in the following month.
More than 40 Georgian volunteers have been killed in Ukraine since the outbreak of hostilities.
David Ratiani and Gia Beriashvili, the two Georgian volunteers killed in combat action in Ukraine, were buried with military honours in Tbilisi on Saturday.
