Two Georgian volunteers were killed in combat action near the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv on Saturday.
Irakli Okruashvili, Georgia’s former defence minister who is currently involved in the armed action in Ukraine, on Saturday posted a social media update that said two Georgian volunteers had died and five received injuries in clashes with Russian troops.
One of the casualties, Davit Menabdishvili, had reportedly resided in Ukraine since 2014.
In total, six Georgian citizens have died in the war since the start of the Russian ivnasion. The bodies of three of them - Gia Beriashvili, Davit Ratiani and Davit Gobejishvili - have been repatriated back to Georgia and buried with military honours in Tbilisi.
