The Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance on Thursday arrested one individual for selling counterfeit money in large quantities.
Police found the suspect had sold 185 units of counterfeit ₾20 (7.7$) bills at various trade facilities in Tbilisi and received “illegal material gain”.
The investigation service also said it was working to “identify and expose” other persons involved in the case.
The crime is punishable by imprisonment for four to seven years.
