Finance Ministry investigators arrest four for selling counterfeit currency

The Investigation Service of Georgia’s Ministry of Finance on Wednesday arrested four individuals for selling counterfeit currency in large quantities.

The Service said its investigation had established the offenders had sold a total of $29,900 worth of forged $100 bills in capital Tbilisi.

It also said it had seized two forged bills of $100 and a fake €50 bill.

The crime is punishable by imprisonment between seven and 10 years.
