The Investigation Service of the Georgian Finance Ministry has charged two individuals for embezzlement of a “large amount of property” from an organisation for persons with disabilities, the state body said on Tuesday.
The Service said its investigation had found the offenders, working as heads of the non-commercial legal entity between 2021-2022, had made decisions “by prior agreement” and “contrary of requirements of the charter of the enterprise”.
It noted the actions resulted in embezzlement of property worth ₾452,187 ($167,662).
The investigation found the alleged offenders also illegally transferred the organisation’s property to other legal entities, causing ₾3,005,189 ($1,114,271) in material damage to the former.
