The Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office has launched proceedings against three citizens of Georgia and Nigeria, who have been charged with appropriation of funds from foreign citizens through fraud and money laundering.

The said on Monday the offenders had offered fraudulent investment and services to foreign citizens and received about ₾647,000 ($249,566) for the goals to an account set up for the purpose of the scheme, before wiring the money to their own bank accounts.

They then used the funds to obtain luxury vehicles, with three cars worth ₾360,000 ($138,862) that had been registered in their names seized by police officers in the state body’s operation in its investigation.
