Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the Georgian winger of the Italian club Napoli, has been named the Player of the Month for February of the Serie A national league, becoming the first player to take the award twice in the same season.
In the latest recognition of the player’s impact for the club, his selection for the prize was revealed by EA Sports, a division of Electronic Arts that develops and publishes sports video games, on Friday. The Serie A Player of the Month award is sponsored by the video game developer.
Kvaratskhelia received the most number of votes cast by fans in the poll for the prize, with the poll also featuring his teammate Victor Osimhen, Lecce defender Federico Baschirotto, Ángel Di María of Juventus and Torino midfielder Aleksei Miranchuk.

Following on his naming as the Player of the Month for August 2022, the award will be presented to Kvaratskhelia before Napoli’s home game against Atalanta, scheduled for Saturday at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium in Naples.
“Kvaratskhelia is the first player to win the EA Sports Player Of The Month twice in the same season. Month after month, the Georgian winger is confirming his excellent impact in our league, thanks to his goal scoring skills and his ability to serve assists for his teammates”, Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo said in his comments on the selection.
The Georgian winger has helped Napoli secure their lead at the top of the national league’s table with his match-winning contributions, while also receiving international praise with his appearances in the Champions League.
