Georgian midfielder Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on Tuesday became the highest-valued Georgian player of all time after the market value of the Napoli winger was raised from €15m to €35m by player market website Transfermarkt.
Jatin Dietl, the website’s area manager for Italy, said Kvaratskhelia’s move to the club was being hailed across the country as “one of the biggest transfer coups” of recent years.
If he continues like this, then the current market value increase will only be a small intermediate step”, Dietl said.
