European media and leading football experts on Wednesday hailed Napoli’s Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for his outstanding performance against Liverpool in the Champions League 4-1 victory.
Khvicha introduced himself to the world: he arrived in the summer for just 10 million USD, but the Georgian is already among the most exciting talents in the Serie A Championship. Yesterday, for the first time on the big stage, Kvara put on a show again and attracted the attention and compliments of half of Europe. A star is born”, the leading Italian daily sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport said.
British newspaper The Guardian noted the “dreadful night” of Liverpool defender Joe Gomez had continued when he was “out-manoeuvred and out-fought” by the “superb Kvaratskhelia” before making the assist for Napoli’s third goal of the night.

English football legend Gary Lineker also praised the Georgian midfielder by saying that Kvaratskhelia was “as difficult to play against as it is to spell his name correctly”.
Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is an exciting young player. Saw him against Lazio at the weekend and he was superb. He’s as difficult to play against as it is to spell his name correctly”, Lineker tweeted.

Thierry Henry, the former star of the French national team and Arsenal, said Kvaratskhelia was “very technical”, in addition to adding “something special to the team”.
Former Liverpool star Michael Owen also praised the Georgian player, saying Kvaratskhelia “simply took down the left wing of Liverpool and the third goal was scored thanks to him”.
