Rafael Benítez, the former Spanish manager of Liverpool, Napoli and Real Madrid, on Wednesday praised Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has made an impressive debut in the Serie A championship since his move to Napoli, by saying the midfielder was “probably the best player in Italy right now”.
Many still don't know him, but Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is probably the best player in Italy right now”, Benítez said in an interview with the leading Italian daily sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Benítez also commented on the upcoming Champions League match between Napoli and Liverpool and noted Kvaratskhelia was the “number one danger” for the English club.
He [Kvaratskhelia] is only 21 years old but he is an excellent talent and the fact that he is doing so well so early in Italy underlines his mentality”, he concluded.
Kvaratskhelia won the player of the month award of the Serie A championship for August last week with 67 percent of the vote.
