Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia won the player of the month award of Italy’s Serie A championship for August, the Italian Footballers' Association said on Friday.
Kvaratskhelia’s colleagues in the Association voted the Georgian for the monthly award before Wednesday’s match between his club Napoli and Lecce, with the Georgian national team midfielder receiving 67 percent of the votes.
Kvaratskhelia has become the first player in the history of Napoli to score three times in two opening games of a season, making an immediate mark following his debut for the Italian club.
