Goal.com, an international football news portal, has listed Napoli’s Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in its list of the best 11 footballers from Europe’s ‘big five’ leagues.
Included in the list along with Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland and other top athletes, Kvaratskhelia is mentioned as “Napoli’s Georgian magician”.
The 21-year-old, who cost €10 million from Dinamo Batumi in the summer transfer window, has been phenomenal in his first 17 games for Napoli, earning the nickname Kvaradona after club icon Diego”, the article reads.
The website also names Napoli as a “real contender across multiple fronts for the first time in decades”, noting there is “no limit” on for how far the team will go when Kvaratskhelia is “leading their charge”.
The 21-year-old midfielder joined Napoli from the Georgian club and made an instant impression in the Italian national championship and Champions League through goals and assists.
Earlier in October he became the first Georgian player to score in the latter competition in 17 years with his goal against Ajax, in the 6-1 win for the Italian club.
