Opposition Our Georgia – Solidarity Alliance member Gedevan Popkhadze has tested positive for coronavirus.
The independent MP is one of six former ruling Georgian Dream party members who established an alliance back in June.
Gedevan Popkhadze was delivered to Republic Hospital with high temperature last night.

Popkhadze’s team member Levan Gogichaishvili, who also tested positive for COVID-19, is also hospitalised.
Other members of the alliance have gone in self-isolation.
Georgia has reported a record 165 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, of which 109 were registered in the Adjara region of Georgia, 81 had contact with infected individuals and four cases are 'imported', said Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia.
Teona Tskhomelidze, a journalist of Rustavi 2, TV has tested positive for coronavirus. Some other 300 employees of the TV company were checked via PCR testing. The family and close contacts of Tskhomelidze have gone into self-isolation.
Independent MP Levan Gogichaishvili and his wife, TV Pirveli journalist Vika Bukia, have tested positive for the coronavirus today.
Georgian Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze’s bodyguard has tested positive for COVID-19, the parliament’s press office reported today. Although Speaker Talakvadze and his family members tested negative, they have gone into self-isolation.
