Georgia confirms 152 new COVID-19 cases, including 90 in Adjara region

Georgia has confirmed a total of 152 new coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours. Six individuals have recovered.

Out of the 152 new cases:

90 are connected with the region of Adjara
15 are connected with a public school in Kutaisi, western Georgia
15 are connected with the Enguri dam connecting Russia-occupied Abkhazia with the rest of Georgia
17 had contact with infected individuals
4 cases are imported

The source of infection of the remaining 11 individuals needs to be identified.

Georgia has reported a record 170 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, of which 124 were registered in the Adjara region of Georgia, said Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia. Currently 1,154 patients are undergoing treatment at Covid centres in Georgia. 11 individuals recovered in Georgia within the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries has reached 1,381.
