Imedi TV journalist Zura Balanchivadze has tested positive for coronavirus.
Balanchivadze wrote on Facebook today that he felt unwell the previous day but had no temperature when he went to work in the morning. However, later at home his temperature increased to 37.7 and he immediately tested for the virus.
All of his contacts have been informed and they went to self-isolation, Imedi TV announced.
It noted as well that the building has been disinfected so that Imedi TV continues to broadcast in accordance to the health ministry recommendations.
The updated data about the total number of new coronavirus cases and recoveries in Georgia over the lats 24 hours will soon be available on StopCov.ge webpage.
Georgia has reported 453 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today. 297 of the 453 new cases were recorded in the Adjara region of western Georgia. 295 patients have recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, while two elderly individuals with several underlying illnesses have died.
In-person studies for school students in grades one to six have resumed today in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Zugdidi and Poti. School students of all grades in the Adjara region will have to attend remote classes, as most of the newly infected cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the region in the recent weeks.
Georgia has reported a record-high, 448 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today. 241 of the 448 new cases were recorded in the country’s western, coastal Adjara region. Georgia has had 6,640 cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020.3,419 of the 6,640 patients have recovered, while 39 others have died. As of today 3,182 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country. 35 of the 3,182 individuals are in critical condition.
Opposition Our Georgia – Solidarity Alliance member Gedevan Popkhadze has tested positive for coronavirus. The independent MP is one of six former ruling Georgian Dream party members who established an alliance back in June.
Georgia has reported 471 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of confirmed cases to 7,564. Meanwhile, 278 individuals have recovered from.the coronavirus, increasing the total recoveries to 3,992.
A total of 554 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Georgia over the last 24 hours. Two more people have died and 252 individuals recovered. As of now, the number of total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has increased to 8,118 in Georgia, including 4,244 recoveries and 50 deaths.
Georgia has reported 578 new cases of the coronavirus and 375 recoveries in the past 24 hours. Three individuals have died of the coronavirus in the country in the past day.As of today there are 45 patients in critical condition in the country. Nine of the 45 patients are from the country’s Russian-occupied Abkhazia region. Georgia has had 8,696 cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020.4,619 of the 8,696 patients have recovered, while 52 others have died.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia says that the Georgian economy continues to function, as does the education system and 'we have no grounds or desire to restrict these today because of the increased number of coronavirus cases.’
