Georgia has reported 471 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of confirmed cases to 7,564.
Out of the 471 new cases
- 57 were reported in Tbilisi
- 360 were reported in Adjara
- 22 were reported in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti
- 11 were reported in Imereti
- 6 were reported in Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti each
- 5 were reported in Guria
- 3 were reported in Mtskheta-Mtianeti
- 1 was registered in Samtskhe-Javakheti
With two more fatalities, the number of coronavirus-related deaths has increased to 48.
Meanwhile, 278 individuals have recovered from.the coronavirus, increasing the total recoveries to 3,992.
Imedi TV journalist Zura Balanchivadze has tested positive for coronavirus. All of his contacts have been informed and they went to self-isolation, Imedi TV announced. The TV company continues to broadcast.

Georgia has reported a record-high, 448 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today. 241 of the 448 new cases were recorded in the country’s western, coastal Adjara region. Georgia has had 6,640 cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020.3,419 of the 6,640 patients have recovered, while 39 others have died. As of today 3,182 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country. 35 of the 3,182 individuals are in critical condition.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia says that the Georgian economy continues to function, as does the education system and 'we have no grounds or desire to restrict these today because of the increased number of coronavirus cases.’
