Georgia hits record-high 448 new cases of coronavirus

Georgia has reported a record-high, 448 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today. 241 of the 448 new cases were recorded in the country’s western, coastal Adjara region.

The new cases were recorded in: 

  • Adjara region - 241 cases 
  • Imereti region - 96 cases 
  • Tbilisi - 62 cases 
  • Samegrelo - 15 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti region - 9 cases 
  • Guria - 7 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 7 cases 
  • Kakheti - 2 cases 
  • Imported - 6 cases 

Georgia has had 6,640 cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020.

3,419 of the 6,640 patients have recovered, while 39 others have died. 

As of today 3,182 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country. 

35 of the 3,182 individuals are in critical condition. 

Georgian health officials have urged people to stay home.
