Eurosport commentator thanks MTA for “amazing job” in Bakuriani for Freestyle Ski, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships

Brad Jay, a professional sports commentator and announcer at Eurosport, on Thursday expressed his gratitude toward the Georgian Mountain Trails Agency for the “amazing job” done in the country’s winter resort town of Bakuriani, which has been hosting the Freestyle Ski, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships.

If you have a chance, come here to Bakuriani, Georgia, a beautiful place. [...] they invested so much in the infrastructure here”, Jay noted.

 

On Thursday at the World Championships, which brings together about 700 athletes from 42 countries competing in 30 categories for seven disciplines, Switzerland’s Noe Roth claimed a gold medal, while American Quinn Dehlinger got the silver and Chinese Longxiao Yang earned a bronze medal in the Aerials competition.

Among women Fanyu Kong, representing China, won the competition, the silver medal went to British Danielle Scott and the bronze to Ukrainian Anastasiya Novosad, the Georgian Ski Federation said.

In other contests, Italy’s Aaron March and Nadya Ochner claimed a gold medal in the mixed Parallel Slalom contest on Wednesday and won their first World Championships medals in their careers. 

 

The silver for the contest went to Austria’s Prommegger Andreas and Shoeffman Sabine, and Switzerland’s Dario Pebble and Suck Julie claimed the bronze.

Ski cross and snowboard cross competitions will be run on Didveli, before the competition closes on March 5.

Domestic authorities ensured infrastructure for the event by installing three new cable cars, a 29 kilometre-long artificial snowmaking system and two artificial water reservoirs in the area.
