Georgian PM, European Olympic Committee review 2025 Winter Youth Olympic Festival plans

The ongoing Freestyle Ski, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships in Georgia’s resort of Bakuriani and plans for hosting the 2025 Winter Youth Olympic Festival in the country were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and EOC President Spyros Capralos.

The meeting noted the ongoing Championships in Bakuriani were an “important event” for the country and the experience gained from hosting it would be significant for the Olympic Festival, the Government Administration said.

 

Georgia has set the goal of holding the Youth Olympic Festival in 2025, and the whole country is eager to hold it. The Prime Minister is enthusiastic, he loves sports and has done a lot for sports. He will continue to do a lot for the sport”, Capralos said in comments on the meeting, adding the event would serve as a promotion opportunity for the country to show its tourism potential and destinations.
