FIS representatives praise Georgia’s hosting of FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships

Representatives of the International Ski Federation have described Georgia’s hosting of the ongoing FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships in Bakuriani as “impressive”.

Roby Moresi, a FIS Assistant Race Director for the competition, said “serious work” had been done for preparations for the competition, adding cooperation with Georgian counterparts was a “pleasure”.

FIS Council Member Fiona Stevens said Bakuriani was an example of new “successful places” that had been developed for the winter sports, and praised the “spirit and dedication” of the Georgian organisers, noting their “attitude and energy” had ensured “great success” in hosting the tournament.

The Georgian Ski Federation and the Mountain Trails Agency, along with the Georgian Government, have been involved in the organisation of the event that is set to run through March 5.
