Strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey was discussed on Friday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the newly appointed Turkish Ambassador to Georgia, Ali Kaan Orbai.

Orbai conveyed to Garibashvili a “cordial greeting” from the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Government Administration said, before the meeting focused on the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The officials highlighted the outcomes and political dynamics of the high-level bilateral relations and the involvement and active cooperation of Georgia and Turkey in “regional and geostrategic” projects.

Garibashvili noted that the further development of effective cooperation with Turkey as a strategic partner “in all directions” was “important” both for the security of the Black Sea region and for “stable and sustainable” development.
