Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Saturday said he was “deeply saddened” by the news of the tragic coal mine accident in Türkiye's Bartın province, which had occurred on Friday, and expressed his “sincere” condolences and sympathy to the Turkish people and government, the families who lost their loved ones in the tragic accident, as well as to the injured and the rescue crews.

On Friday, an explosion in a coal mine in Türkiye's northern Bartın province killed 28 people. The cause of the explosion is still unknown. 150 people are involved in search and rescue operations.
