Newly appointed Turkish Ambassador starts diplomatic mission in Georgia

Priorities of bilateral relations between Georgia and Turkey and the prospects of future cooperation were discussed on Monday in a meeting between the newly appointed Turkish Ambassador to Georgia, Ali Kaan Orbai, and the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Lasha Darsalia. 

Orbai handed over his credentials in the formal commencement of his duties, with Darsalia congratulating the Ambassador on the appointment, the Georgian foreign office said. 

The two officials expressed hope the close cooperation and strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey would be deepened further.

The Turkish diplomat reiterated his country’s “unwavering support” for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
