Turkey has donated eight backhoe loaders to the Georgian Defence Forces in a move aimed to help improve its logistics capabilities, the Georgian Defence Ministry announced on Wednesday.

Minister Juansher Burchuladze and Ali Kaan Orbai, the Turkish Ambassador to Georgia, inspected the hardware and were introduced to its capabilities at the formal handover in Tbilisi.

The $404,824 donation comes as part of the framework of the military financial cooperation agreement signed between the countries in 2019.

The agreement provides for the allocation of a $5.6 million grant to the Ministry over a five-year period.
