Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili on Thursday will pay an official visit to Turkey, the Georgian foreign office said.
Within the framework of the visit, Darchiashvili will hold meetings with high-level Turkish officials.
The visit will focus on the issues of strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey.
Strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey was discussed on Friday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the newly appointed Turkish Ambassador to Georgia, Ali Kaan Orbai.
Garibashvili noted that the further development of effective cooperation with Turkey as a strategic partner “in all directions” was “important” both for the security of the Black Sea region and for “stable and sustainable” development.
